Hernando Tellez:(Santafé de Bogotá, 1908 - 1966) Colombian writer and journalist. Even as a young journalist showed his skills as a contributor to the magazine that ran Germain University Arciniegas, and as assistant Enrique Santos in El Tiempo. He was also deputy director of the Liberal and Semana magazine. Compendido During the period between 1943 and 1944 was Colombia's consul in Marseilles and senator, but an outstanding performance as one of the writers most complete of its time (was a translator, commentator, writer, essayist and literary critic) . In his extensive essays dealt with issues of literature, society, politics and everyday life. Tellez was a poet of the trial, at the same depth, was a great craftsman of the language teacher in a sober and effective use of language. His writings are collected in several volumes, among them World Concern (1943), Bagatelle (1944), Light in the Forest(1946, probably his finest book, is divided into "theories", "Sins" and " trifles "), Daily (1946),Literature (1951) and Literature and Society (1956).Also wrote the storybook ashes to the wind and other stories .
